
Dr Albert Arhin, Board Chairman
Dr Albert Arhin is an affiliated Senior Research Fellow and a member of the Board of Directors of INEC. He is an international development and sustainability specialist with over a decade experience in research, training, strategic planning and reviews and project evaluations. His expertise includes capacity building of community groups, conducting environmental impact assessment, human rights risks and impact assessment, climate change vulnerability assessment and project evaluations. Albert holds a PhD in Geography (focused on forest and climate change policy) from the University of Cambridge; a master’s degree in environment and development sustainability (University of Leeds); and a bachelor’s degree in development policy planning (KNUST). Albert is also a Research Fellow with the Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His previous roles have included a Research and Policy Manager for Oxfam in Ghana and a Research Officer with the Participatory Development Associates (PDA), Ghana. Albert’s current research interests focus on the interconnections between science, technology, policy and the politics of sustainability; climate change, green economy and low-carbon development; intersections of rural livelihoods, agrarian and environmental change and policy processes; local governance, inequalities, rural and inclusive development; civil society sustainability in a changing aid context and the future and sustainability of agricultural production in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He has researched, consulted, published and reviewed papers in these areas.
